Herz Jesu Kirche

Herz Jesu Kirche represents a decisive shift away from traditional church architecture. The old church was totally destroyed in a fire in 1996 and some far sighted people took the opportunity to establish an architectural competition to design its replacement.

While the city's Baroque, Rococo and (Neo-) Gothic churches are impressive, this church is outstanding architecturally, aesthetically and theologically.

I would have walk pass this building not knowing it is a church. Can you share with me where is this church located at? I am totally curious to drop by and take a look :)Thanks!

The Church is at Lachnerstraße 8, Munich. This is the general direction of Schloss Nymphenburg. The nearest U-Bahn is Rotkreuzplatz on U1. Or the Neuhausen stop on Tram 12 is right at the bottom of Lachnerstr.

The easiest way to get directions from there is to enter the address in Google maps at www.maps.google.com
